the ugliest sock in the universe
Ha! See! It's hideous!
Look at those clunky, awkward gussets! Look at that gigantic foot! I could put both feet in there! Yuck! You should see the toe closure. My Kitchener stitch sucks! Bad sock, no biscuit!

You could sell it to a pregnant person with swollen feet. :)
(Not that I have room to make fun, since I'm currently struggling with ribbing, which I can't quite get the hang of somehow.)

That is an excellent idea. I think I'll go down to Babies R Us and give it to the first sucker I see. Of course, I'd feel compelled to make the other one...

It's not that ugly! I can agree that there may be some reasons to frog, especially if it's the wrong size for you. I hope it was a learning experience for you. Many sock knitters don't graft (kitchener) their toes; instead, they turn the sock inside out and use a three-needle bind-off. Maybe that would work for you?

BWAHAHAHA!! You didn't check your gauge, did you?

Dean just asked, "Is that for Rob's giant swollen foot? Maybe it's supposed to fit OVER his boot.
All kidding aside, good on you for knitting a sock! Don't frog it, you need to save it forever and ever- your very first sock. Awww...

Okay, so I didn't *exactly* check my gauge.
Three-needle bind-off! That seems like a much better idea. There were 12 stitches on two needles that I had to graft together. The really ugly ones are the end ones, but I must say that the middle couple of stitches really are seamlessly put together.
We'll see how the other sock pattern works out.

I agree with "Dean" up above -- it's not a sock -- it's a cast-cozy! But hey... you can't expect your very first sock to be perfect! I'd add another spiffy comment, but I don't know any knit-ese.

You could always put it over Rob's head instead!
