100 98 Things About Me

1. I am the oldest of three girls.
2. The name on my birth certificate is "Linnie Kathleen Gardner", but it's "Kate Christ" according to my Drivers License. It'll be Kate Schmidt soon.
3. I  was named after my dad's maternal grandmother. I used to hate it when people would call me by my real name, but I don't mind it as much now. (Please don't do it, though. You may get slapped.)
4. I am a cheese snob, but I have a not-so-secret fondness for Kraft Singles.
5. I am a yarn snob. I do not harbor any secret longings for Red Heart.
6. I was born in Sacramento, California.
7. I grew up on the Northern California coast and on a farm in Northern Central California.
8. The week after I graduated from Orland High School, I moved to Seattle.
9. I lived in London for three fabulous months in 1989.
10. If you want to make me all warm and fuzzy, buy me flowers. Any kind, even carnations.
11. I'm an actor. I love everything about the theatre.
12. When I was a toddler, my parents called me "Sarah Bernhardt".
13. We are living in a material world, and I am a material girl.
14. I used to work at a Tower Books in Bellevue, Washington. Bill Gates came into our store fairly regularly and bought porno mags.
15. I love to paint, but I'm not very good at it. These days I satisfy my cravings for bright colors with yarn.
16. I love to take photographs, but I'm not very good at it. I have an unsteady hand.
17. Sometimes the sight of a man in a white t-shirt and jeans just makes me weak at the knees.
18. There are very few foods I dislike.
19. I take half&half in my coffee, and sugar in my tea.
20. I prefer loose tea to tea in bags.
21. I have a very short temper.
22. I've been to every state in the U.S. except for Hawaii.
23. The first time I went to Disneyland was in utero. This could explain my extreme fondness for the place.
24. I changed majors four times at the University of Washington. I ended up in linguistics, but I don't have a degree in it or anything else.
25. It's almost impossible to get me out of a bookstore without having purchased something.
26. Not to mention yarn stores.
27. Rob and I got married at the Harrah's in South Lake Tahoe, Nevada.
28. We moved to California from Seattle because Rob got a job at TiVo. He still works there, I don't.
29. If I could only eat one ethnic food for the rest of my life, I'd probably pick Mexican, but it would kill me to have to give up Indian.
30. I love Las Vegas.
31. I've been watching All My Children since I was born. When I was an infant, my parents were both in college/working, and the only time they were home during the day together was at noon, so they watched AMC.
32. I watch a lot of TV.
33. I bite my fingernails.
34. My parents are still married. They just sold their house to my little sister and her husband.
35. My favorite color is pink. All pinks are good, but the best is a warm, peachy shell pink.
36. I prefer dark chocolate to milk.

40. I prefer red wine over white, but you never have to ask me twice to have a glass of Champagne.

43. I own a tiara, and I keep it on top of the television set.
44. I am afraid of the dark.
45. I'm very distantly related to Kristin Chenoweth, so I like to refer to her as "mycousinkristinchenoweth".
46. I'm really good at Trivial Pursuit.
47. I'm okay, but not great at Boggle and Scrabble.
48. I think I'm a decent Texas Holdem player. I don't always win, but I place fairly frequently.
49. I don't even care if I win, I just like to be in the money.
50. I think Orlando Bloom is totally gorgeous.
51. My shoe size is 7 1/2 W, so I usually have to wear an 8.
52. It's pretty easy to make me cry. I think I get that from my dad.
53. I'm a pretty good cook.
54. It would be hard for me to pick my favorite movie, but it's probably "A Fish Called Wanda."
55. I don't care for Woody Allen.

67. The part of my body that I would most like to alter is my humungous hip area.
68. I think my clavicle is very well-put together, and I like the way the bones in my wrists stick out.

70. One of my favorite expressions of affection is when I'm standing at the stove, cooking, and someone comes up behind me and nuzzles my neck.
71. If I'm in a restaurant, I like my eggs over easy. If I'm cooking them myself, I prefer scrambled.
72. My perfume is Clinique Simply. I think it's perfect for me.
73. There's a big scar in my left eyebrow that I've had since I was two.
74. There's a crescent-shaped scar between my eyes that I got fencing with Abbie when I was a kid.
75. I don't know where the scar on my upper lip came from.
76. Not that I put much stock in such things, but I'm a Scorpio, and I'm pretty Scorpio-like.
77. It bugs me when people chew gum loudly.
78. I occasionally freak out in crowded elevators.
79. I think that two things every girl should have are a stack of love letters and a poem written about her, and I'm glad to have both.
80. But I'm also envious of girls who have sweet, intimate photos of themselves taken by a lover.

82. Sometimes I like to get in my car and just drive around.
