- I am the oldest of three girls.
- The name on my birth certificate is "Linnie Kathleen Gardner", but it's "Kate Christ" according to my Drivers License. It'll be Kate Schmidt soon.
- I was named after my dad's maternal grandmother. I used to hate it when people would call me by my real name, but I don't mind it as much now. (Please don't do it, though. You may get slapped.)
- I am a cheese snob, but I have a not-so-secret fondness for Kraft Singles.
- I am a yarn snob. I do not harbor any secret longings for Red Heart.
- I was born in Sacramento, California.
- I grew up on the Northern California coast and on a farm in Northern Central California.
- The week after I graduated from Orland High School, I moved to Seattle.
- I lived in London for three fabulous months in 1989.
- If you want to make me all warm and fuzzy, buy me flowers. Any kind, even carnations.
- I'm an actor. I love everything about the theatre.
- When I was a toddler, my parents called me "Sarah Bernhardt".
- We are living in a material world, and I am a material girl.
- I used to work at a Tower Books in Bellevue, Washington. Bill Gates came into our store fairly regularly and bought porno mags.
- I love to paint, but I'm not very good at it. These days I satisfy my cravings for bright colors with yarn.
- I love to take photographs, but I'm not very good at it. I have an unsteady hand.
- Sometimes the sight of a man in a white t-shirt and jeans just makes me weak at the knees.
- There are very few foods I dislike.
- I take half&half in my coffee, and sugar in my tea.
- I prefer loose tea to tea in bags.

- I've been to every state in the U.S. except for Hawaii.
- The first time I went to Disneyland was in utero. This could explain my extreme fondness for the place.
- I changed majors four times at the University of Washington. I ended up in linguistics, but I don't have a degree in it or anything else.
- It's almost impossible to get me out of a bookstore without having purchased something.
- Not to mention yarn stores.
- Rob and I got married at the Harrah's in South Lake Tahoe, Nevada.
- We moved to California from Seattle because Rob got a job at TiVo. He still works there, I don't.
- If I could only eat one ethnic food for the rest of my life, I'd probably pick Mexican, but it would kill me to have to give up Indian.
- I love Las Vegas.
- I've been watching All My Children since I was born. When I was an infant, my parents were both in college/working, and the only time they were home during the day together was at noon, so they watched AMC.
- I watch a lot of TV.
- I bite my fingernails.
- My parents are still married. They just sold their house to my little sister and her husband.
- My favorite color is pink. All pinks are good, but the best is a warm, peachy shell pink.
- I prefer dark chocolate to milk.

- I prefer red wine over white, but you never have to ask me twice to have a glass of Champagne.

- Shaken, not stirred, and gin (Bombay Sapphire), not vodka. And lots of olives, please.
- I own a tiara, and I keep it on top of the television set.
- I am afraid of the dark.
- I'm very distantly related to Kristin Chenoweth, so I like to refer to her as "mycousinkristinchenoweth".
- I'm really good at Trivial Pursuit.
- I'm okay, but not great at Boggle and Scrabble.
- I think I'm a decent Texas Holdem player. I don't always win, but I place fairly frequently.
- I don't even care if I win, I just like to be in the money.

- My shoe size is 7 1/2 W, so I usually have to wear an 8.

- I hate cleaning the bathroom.
- My teeth are sort of crooked because I never wore my retainer.
- I was inexplicably and surprisingly devastated when Princess Diana died.
- The part of my body that I would most like to alter is my humungous hip area.
- I think my clavicle is very well-put together, and I like the way the bones in my wrists stick out.
- I wish I could sing better.
- One of my favorite expressions of affection is when I'm standing at the stove, cooking, and someone comes up behind me and nuzzles my neck.
- If I'm in a restaurant, I like my eggs over easy. If I'm cooking them myself, I prefer scrambled.
- My perfume is Clinique Simply. I think it's perfect for me.
- There's a big scar in my left eyebrow that I've had since I was two.
- There's a crescent-shaped scar between my eyes that I got fencing with Abbie when I was a kid.

- I think that two things every girl should have are a stack of love letters and a poem written about her, and I'm glad to have both.
- But I'm also envious of girls who have sweet, intimate photos of themselves taken by a lover.

- Sometimes I like to get in my car and just drive around.
